Hello! My name is Mandie! I'm 19 years old and I'm an aspiring photographer. I hope to become a photojournalist/ freelance photographer some day. Or who knows, maybe I'll eventually own my own studio!

My life is art...I love it! I've been drawing and painting for as long as I remember. I love anything that requires me to be creative, I guess it's just in my blood. Some of my other creative interests include, sewing, jewelry making, ballet, singing, writing. Most of my artistic schooling has been in traditional art, and I've been working on photography for 2 years now.

I've been asked which I enjoy more, photography or traditional art, but I love both. Each has its own rewards.

Another thing about myself, I'm a dA addict. I practically live here, haha, well, not really. I'm a favourite addict and I love to browse through people's galleries and fave. I have been trying to comment as much as possible though!

Another thing I've been asked is what kind of camera I use. For most of my recent work, I use my Canon Rebel XT SLR with the basic 18-55mm lens, 55-250mm IS lens, and 50mm f/1.8 lens and macro extension tubes. Before that I used a Sony Cybershot. I also have a Polaroid OneStep 600, Polaroid sx-70, 2 vintage 35mm Argus Rangefinders, and a Yashica Electro 35 and I hope to expand my work to medium format soon! I love to collect and use all sorts of cameras!

Favourite TV Shows - Lost, Seinfeld, X-Files, Gilmore Girls, Friends, Family Guy...al of which have been cancelled except for two. Hah.
Favourite Movies - Moulin Rouge, The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, Dumb and Dumber, Anchorman, Donnie Darko, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, Interview With The Vampire, Mona Lisa Smile, American Psycho, The Orphanage, The Hills Have Eyes...etc.
Random interests - Hawaii, the 80's, cooking, technology, psychology, John Mayer, pandas, rock/oldies music and quantum physics.
